Optional Activities: Choose one or two activities per week to complete.  Once complete, email me a picture or attachment of your work.  Happy creating!   

1.  Plan a dinner to cook for someone important to you.  Design & create a menu  including drinks, appetizers, salad, main course (with sides) and dessert.  Provide an explanation for each food choice on the back of the menu.

2.  Write a one page (FULL PAGE) letter thanking someone who has been a positive influence in your life.  Make sure you are sincere and thoughtful.  

3.  Create a decorative poster advertising and encouraging others to take Family & Consumer Sciences or Career Investigations (include the interesting things you learn and the perks of the class).

4.  Make a list of 3-4 things that you want but cannot afford right now. Include a true cost for the item.  Write a one page plan explaining how you can earn and save enough money to  afford those items.

5. Identify three skills or habits that you feel are the most important for students to learn in order to be successful in their future.  Write one page explaining how these will make them successful. 

6.  Create a song or poem.  The theme of your song/poem may be about any of the topics we have learned in class.  Your song/poem must be a minimum of 3/4 of a page. 

7. Design a t-shirt for next year’s students in this class.  The t-shirt should have a theme of your choice and include designs for both sides.  In addition, write a half page summary describing why you chose this theme. 

8.  Create a decorative poster promoting a career that you would like to have in the future.  Include pictures, labels, and descriptions of what the job includes and why it’s a good choice.  Make it colorful and interesting.  

9. Draw a comic strip that shows how to prevent kitchen accidents.  Must be at least 5 slides and include speech bubbles.  Be school appropriate.  Add detail and color to your pictures - no stick figures.
